Every now and then I’m forced to revisit my definition of a poor war strategy. Most of the time that poor war strategy takes place, it’s negotiable whether it might work or not and it’s someone’s judgment call. A good example of ridiculously poor strategy would be when Hitler decided to overextend his Wehrmacht by trying to invade Russia, and it essentially cost him the war. To be fair, it has been noted that Hitler was suffering from any number of mental and physical debilitations, and was basically traveling down dementia avenue at that point in the war.

THAT being said, dementia is the only excuse for knowingly poor war decisions–especially when people’s lives hang in the balance. I read in the news yesterday that the newest Iraq War ‘plan’ is one involving the ARMING OF SUNNI EXTREMISTS in order to fight Al-Qaeda alongside our troops….what?

AP-The US high command this month gave permission to its officers on the ground to negotiate arms deals with local leaders. Arms, ammunition, body armour and other equipment, as well as cash, pick-up trucks and fuel, have already been handed over in return for promises to turn on al-Qaida and not attack US troops.

Excuse me? I must’ve misread.

Last I checked, the Bu$h Administration was busy trying to get in Iran’s ass for allegedly ‘arming Sunni extremists in Iraq’ with weaponry used to kill American troops and civilians (by the way, notice how that story died when it became pretty clear that the weapons used are mostly blackmarket-bought..).

That might be the straw that breaks the camels’ back (pun wholly intended). Arming people that are responsible for the most of the heaviest casualties within the Sunni Triangle (area includes Tikrit, fucking Fallujah, Samarra, and Ramadi), with a hope and a prayer that they won’t use U.S. branded assault rifles to murder our soldiers and use the money to build more IEDs. In case you didn’t know (apparently Bu$h doesn’t), Al-Qaeda is a SUNNI-based group. Who else is an extremist Sunni? Well, Bin Laden and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, for starters An early 2007 poll found ‘Between 75% and 87% of Iraqi Sunni Arabs consider armed attacks on U.S. forces legitimate and justified resistance’..

Oh right, wait… they promised.

Nevermind.

DELCAMBRE, La. - Sag your britches somewhere else, this Cajun-country town has decided. Mayor Carol Broussard said he would sign an ordinance the town council approved this week setting penalties of up to six months in jail and a $500 fine for being caught in pants that show undergarments or certain parts of the body.

Say it what ever you want, I’m ready for this dumb shit to end. At this point I’m willing to bet there’s a correlation between the degree of the sagging and the IQ level. Odds are the further your waist is from the top of your pants, the stupider you are. Why are people hanging on to fads started by prison bitches and that require them to constantly hold up their pants? If you don’t mind only having one free hand–do you mind having to duck waddle everywhere?

I blame women for dudes walking around like this. Why? All it takes is one group of cute girls in every city to start ridiculing boys waddling around like this publicly, and this will disappear faster than crystal meth around trailer trash. I could give a damn WHY you do it, just stop.

Can we PLEASE let this shit die?

the dumb watching the stupid II

With the recent upswing regarding missing White girls and the resulting syndromes, there is no shortage of media coverage (esp here in KC). As I’ve noted previously, coverage of Paris’s stupidity continues to be all over the place, often usurping ACTUAL news. I came across this one today, and I thought it was especially relevant given the current news.

There is a growing uproar in Miami with regards to another missing woman, Stepha Henry, but unfortunately for her and the people who care about her: a) she’s Black b) Paris is still more important. She is a 22 year old college grad who went missing May 29th. Apparently MSNBC had numerous guests (including police spokespeople) prepped and coming in to discuss the matter and get the word out, when they decided to cut the coverage for more on Paris.

“As I waiting to be interviewed, I was listening to the Paris Hilton coverage to include discussion to the effect if anybody had seen or knew the whereabouts of her Chihuahua.

“Then they tell me they have to cut the piece, cut my interview because they’re doing constant coverage of Paris Hilton. I’m appalled that a missing woman cannot get even 60 seconds of air time because the priorities of MSNBC was to have footage of the front gates of Paris Hilton’s house.”

I don’t try not to blame the media, because they are simply responding to consumer demand. If they start talking about missing Black people, most will tune out. In that same reasoning, I seriously doubt they would have cut a piece on Kelsey Smith.

Paris > Missing White women >World News > Local News > missing Black women

Now we ALL know that this Paris shit is hilarious. I laughed out loud at the thought of the look on that talentless broads’ face when they made her squat and cough like the rest of the ‘vacationers’ at the ‘ol county clink. This thing really took off today, when I guess they came and got her ass from her house and re-clinked her. Increase hilarious level, please and thanks.

Oh, and this is a week after Sarah Silverman shat on her at the MTV Awards while Paris was sitting there looking near tears. Only problem is, MUCH more important things were going on. While the entire country was concerned about what some standard issue rich White girl was doing, Peter Pace–the highest-ranking U.S. military official as Chairman of the Joint chiefs–was replaced.

The Bushies knew he wouldn’t have made it out the coming Senate Confirmation hearing alive. He seems to be the latest to lose his job because of this administrations’ lack of anything resuming the slightest inkling of foresight, insight or planning or management or strategy or intelligence in regards to the Iraq quagmire. Anyways, CNN and MSNBC among others interrupted their coverage of this very important event to live HELICOPTER feeds of this this broad being taken to jail. Again. With obvious rushing and yelling off camera, MSNBC cut away from an interview with Colonel Rick Francona on the Defense Secretary replacing the Joint Chiefs Chairman Peter Pace, to show Paris Hilton leaving her house in West Hollywood to attend court.

I never like being reminded that this country is full of idiots who watch other idiots in their spare time. Oh and by the way Paris…watch out for your corn hole.

AP: Growing frustration with the performance of the Democratic Congress, combined with widespread public pessimism over President Bush’s temporary troop buildup in Iraq, has left satisfaction with the overall direction of the country at its lowest point in more than a decade, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Almost six in 10 Americans said they do not think the additional troops sent to Iraq since the beginning of the year will help restore civil order there, and 53 percent — a new high in Post-ABC News polls — said they do not believe that the war has contributed to the long-term security of the United States.

Disapproval of Bush’s performance in office remains high, but the poll highlighted growing disapproval of the new Democratic majority in Congress. Just 39 percent said they approve of the job Congress is doing, down from 44 percent in April, when the new Congress was about 100 days into its term. More significant, approval of congressional Democrats dropped 10 percentage points over that same period, from 54 percent to 44 percent.

Much of that drop was fueled by lower approval ratings of the Democrats in Congress among strong opponents of the war, independents and liberal Democrats. While independents were evenly split on the Democrats in Congress in April (49 percent approved, 48 percent disapproved), now 37 percent said they approved and 54 percent disapproved. Among liberal Democrats, approval of congressional Democrats dropped 18 points.

Bush’s overall job-approval rating stands at 35 percent, unchanged from April.
